Happy Monday Everyone!!! I'm so excited about today's featured wedding......Seneca and Elton. They are truly a beautiful couple and their wedding was simply breathtaking. The wedding took place at the Biltmore Estate located in North Carolina. The beautiful and stunning one-of- a-kind event was designed by the oh-so-fabulous Lisa Vorce of Oh, How Charming! and to capture it all was the amazing photography of Elizabeth Messina. Thanks so much Elizabeth and Lisa for sharing your amazing talent with us.
This feature is Part I of Seneca and Elton's wedding. Check back later for Part II which will feature the beautiful decor at the reception. Lisa shares some of the wonderful details about the wedding ceremony and venue below. Enjoy!!!!!!!!
Our beautiful and stylish couple! Check out the image of the Biltmore, it is truly a castle!
Seneca is absolutely stunning and this shot has a vintage feel to it!
The grounds at the Biltmore...located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. How beautiful!
The guest arriving!
The beautiful ceremony site!
Lisa: This was one of my favorite weddings (yes...I know I say that about all of my weddings...but this one holds a very special place in my heart!). This wedding came to me through the fabulous Bridal Bar and the clients were two of the sweetest people on the planet. They chose the beautiful Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina as the backdrop of their weekend wedding. They invited about 120 of their closet family and friends and chartered transportation to whisk away everyone to Asheville. The weekend started with a welcome reception and bonfire at the horse barn on the estate (we had 8,000 acres to play with!). The bride and groom wanted to keep the actual ceremony and reception location a surprise for their guests, so we were very careful to orchestrate all pre-wedding activities away from the grounds of the main house (which was the selected backdrop location for the ceremony and reception). It was fun to keep a little bit of mystery going throughout the weekend.
The bride had very specific ideas about what she wanted and came to us with a wonderful selection of images that she had pulled. We immediately understood the vibe she was after and designed accordingly. She wanted to throw an understated and elegant outdoor dinner party with a little Anthropologie-esque vibe to it.
For the ceremony, the bride wanted to keep it fairly simple, but she wanted a ton of "movement". We set up the chairs amphitheater style so there was a curvature to the ceremony space. We used fruit-wood chiavari chairs and opted for brown cushions rather than the standard white/ivory. This helped maintain a clean look to the ceremony. To give the bride the movement she wanted, we incorporated hundreds of white satin ribbon strands which we hung from the existing loggia. We also sporadically placed silver dollar eucalyptus sprigs tied with white ribbon on the backs of some of the chairs. In setting up the chairs, we intentionally left some spaces open and in place of a chair - we placed gorgeous rustic wood bowls full of creamy white rose petals. For the ceremony structure, Mindy Rice, of Mindy Rice Floral Design, incorporated hundreds of orchid strands for an over-grown garden feel. It was beautiful.
Thanks Lisa, what a beautiful ceremony. Check back later guys for beautiful images and details from the reception........trust me, you don't want to miss it!
I have always wanted to attend a wedding at the Biltmore. I can't wait for part 2

Elton and Seneca!! Absolutely gorgeous wedding! The lush greenery of the grounds is my favorite element. Here in Arizona, we don't get to see much of that!

Oooo that's Elton Brand. I love him! My husband is a Duke grad, as are the bride and groom...and the groom is a rockin' bball player and was great at Duke! What a beautiful wedding. I have had a chance to visit the Biltmore and while it's not my style, I know that it would make a breathtaking wedding backdrop. Talk about feeling like a princess! Elizabeth Messina is so talented!

I love that drawing! It reminds me of that old TV show (might still be going actually..) in North America called The Big Comfy Couch. Definitely need on of those at home!
