I am so excited about our guest today....Meet the beautiful and charming Kristi Amoroso of Kristi Amoroso Special Events. Kristi's weddings and events are amazingly beautiful and always "magazine worthy"! Her work has been published in some of the top wedding publications including...Martha Stewart Weddings....Elegant Bride...In Style Weddings...and Modern Bride. Kristi took a little time out of her busy schedule to chat with us at the cafe...without further ado...I give you...Kristi Amoroso!
The beautiful Kristi Amoroso!
TBC: What inspires you as an Event Planner?
KA: I love the idea of creating unique, new, creative events for each of my clients. I want every event to be different, and really represent the individual, no cookie cutter weddings!
TBC: Why do you feel it is important for a bride to have a planner throughout the entire process of the planning of the wedding versus the “day of coordinator”?
KA: There are so many details that can be stressful, and more complicated than first thought. A planner helps the bride in so many ways, from offering great vendor recommendations, to helping with the overall budget, to creating a beautiful design, and then finally to pulling it all together on the big day.
TBC: Kristi...your outdoor weddings are so gorgeous...what does a bride need to consider when planning an outdoor wedding and is it less costly?
KA: Outdoor weddings are generally more expensive than hotel or indoor weddings. You need to bring in lighting, many rentals, tenting sometimes, and often shuttle guests in. They are so wonderful, though...the lighting for the photographs, and the spirit of the event is very different than an indoor space.
TBC: What has been the highlight of your career to date?
KA: I have had many rewarding projects, so there is not really one highlight. It has been fun watching my business grow, and seeing some of my events being published. And of course certain jobs are very challenging and especially fulfilling to see them come to fruition!
TBC: What are your favorite color palettes for weddings?
KA: Currently I love greens and yellows, but am not wed to any colors. I like change, and I like fashion, so I am always interested in new colors and designs! I am also very into all whites and off white shades.
TBC: What type of venues are the most fun to design for?
KA: I like the diversity of working in different spaces, but I do love outside, private estates where you can be very creative and have flexibility in how you design the event- visually and spatially.
TBC: What 3 adjectives describe your style?
KA: Elegant, clean, contemporary!
TBC: Describe a Kristi Amoroso signature wedding.
KA: Oh, I think someone would need to see my website, because I do so many different types of weddings! But probably a signature wedding would be elegant, not too stuff, with a strong sense of style and design, but not overly trendy.
TBC: What is the best part about your job?
KA: I love meeting new people and getting to know the families. And I love the creative side...working with the florist...food preparation...the lighting....the overall design of the event. And of course..the wedding day itself is such a joy! I am always so thrilled on the wedding day and so thankful that I have a job this rewarding.
TBC: Tell us a little about your personal life…we want to get to know you a little!
KA: I have three great kids- Stella, 9, Reed 6, and Julian 5. We live on two acres in Sonoma, in a house built in 1860, that we have fixed up over the last ten years. I have a barn that we have fixed up also where I have my office (which is done in lime green and taupe.) My husband works for THX, we have been married 12 years. My daughter Stella is dying to start working with me- I am hoping this summer she can help out on a few production jobs. We have a house out at Stinson Beach that we enjoy very much, we spend our time the country or on the beach, and feel very lucky!

The wedding gown is divine, and the flowers are simply exquisite. That right there is the epitome of the perfect outdoor wedding.
